Fortune Cookie Drawing

This drawing was inspired by the fortunes in fortune cookies. At first I wasn't inspired by any of the fortunes I got so I started doodling a random girl. But I started getting ideas along the way and added the elements of the fortunes into the drawing. The girl represents the fortune "you constantly struggle for self improvement". The black represents all of the bad and negative traits while normal part of her represents the new and improved version of her. The halo represents the progress of self improvement. I got two fortunes about time. One is " the time is right to make new friends" and "it's better to have a hen tomorrow than an egg today". I noticed that both of these fortunes kind of contradict each other since one is about patience while the other is about doing something now. So on the right there is a clock that has a check mark on it to show the right time is now. On the left shows another clock but having an hour glass and three dots above it. The hour glass and the dots represents waiting. If you look at the drawing as a whole, it represents that it takes time improve certain parts of yourself.

Art x 3

In this assignment, we had to make a collage inspired by the theme "celebrity". The first collage we made we only had for two days then we had to give it to someone else. Then we had a new collage to work with for two days and gave that one away. The third collge we kept longer than two days. Letting go of something that I worked on twice gave me the pressure to put something on the paper. I was also nervous because I was afraid of what that one person was going to do with it. When I received the first collage that I was going to start on, I was stumped. I had no idea what to do with it and ended up doing little things to it. When I received The last collage, I again had no idea what to do with it. I tried to work with what I had but ended up adding the word "inspiring". I decided that I wanted to take a risk and transform the entire collage and make it mine. The collage turned out better than I thought it would. Something I have learned from this is that sometimes you have take risks and make art your own.

Pop Print

An object I used for my pop print is The Legend of Zelda lunch box. I chose this item because I grew up playing Legend of Zelda video games so I thought it would be fun for me to make this print. Since the lunch box has so many details, it was a bit of a challenge. I had to remove both of the islands, shrink the clouds, and remove details in the two males and the boat. Drawing the image was quick and easy but carving it out was a hard and slow process but the stamp and the print turned out great.
